What 'cha Reading?

As someone who reads a lot, I'm often asked, "Bro. Royce, what are you currently reading?" Right now I'm reading "11 Indispensable Relationships You Can't Be Without", by Leonard Sweet. With characteristic style and wit, Len digs down into Scripture and pulls up 11 relationships that we need in this life's journey. For example, we need a Jonathan, a true friend. We need a Jethro, someone who'll kick us in the butt when we need it. We need a Barnabas, an encourager. There's more. And Len gives you a bonus at the end, a 12th relationship we all need. One Thing

Psalm 27:4. David said there was one and only one thing that he desired and that was to dwell in the very presence of God. "I'm only asking God for this one thing", says David. What about me? I've asked God for hundreds of things. But David asks for the one and only important thing: the very presence of God in his life. In Luke 10:42, Jesus had to point out to Martha that Mary had chosen the 'one thing' that was needed, the one thing that was essential--spending time at Jesus' feet, listening to His Word. My prayer today is David's and Mary's: "Lord, I simply desire to sit at Your feet this morning and listen to Your Word, Amen."
